Usage

Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (31)Reaper's Shroud is the profession mechanic of the reaper. This offensive shroud is slightly less resilient than necromancer's Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (32)Death Shroud but, in exchange, provides massive damage.

Damage

Most of the damage comes from Reaper's Shroud thanks to Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (33)Death Perception and Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (34)Reaper's Onslaught. Start fights with greatsword, use all your skills, then enter Reaper's Shroud and do massive damage. Then exit the shroud and continue using your weapons to rebuild your life force.

Opener

When fighting bosses and other tough enemies, you can start fights with the following opener. The general idea is to have your pulsing skills dealing damage while you are in Shroud to benefit from Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (35)Death Perception and Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (36)Reaper's Onslaught.

  1. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (37)Nightfall
  2. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (38)Grasping Darkness Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (39) Weapon swap
  3. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (40)Well of Darkness
  4. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (41)Well of Suffering
  5. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (42)Life Siphon Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (43)Reaper's Shroud
  6. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (44)Death's Charge
  7. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (45)Soul Spiral inside your wells to make use of the whirl finisher.
  8. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (46)Life Rend Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (47)Life Slash Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (48)Life Reap X2
  9. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (49)Death's Charge
  10. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (50)Life Rend Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (51)Life Slash Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (52)Life Reap X2
  11. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (53)Death's Charge
  12. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (54)Life Rend Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (55)Life Slash Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (56)Life Reap X2
  13. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (57)Death's Charge
  14. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (58)Exit Reaper's Shroud
  15. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (59)Life Siphon Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (60) Weapon swap
  16. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (61)Death Spiral
  17. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (62)Gravedigger
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (63)Grasping Darkness happens almost immediatly but has a long aftercast that you can cancel with weapon swap.
  • Consider casting Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (64)Infusing Terror for Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (65) Stability to ensure you do not get interrupted during your high damage Reaper's Shroud.
  • Use Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (66)Executioner's Scythe instead of Shroud autos if the enemy is below 50% hp.
  • Do not interrupt Shroud autos to benefit from Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (67)Reaper's Onslaught.
  • If the enemy is below 50% HP, keep spamming Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (68)Gravedigger.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (69)Nightfall will trigger Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (70)Relic of Fireworks for a nice damage boost as you prepare to enter Shroud.
  • Against bosses with a Defiance Bar or breakbar, it is generally worth delaying the rotation until the bar breaks. You can contribute to this with Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (71)Grasping Darkness and Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (72)"Chilled to the Bone!".

Chill generation

Reaper's inflict much higher damage to Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (73) chilled foes thanks to Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (74)Cold Shoulder. Inflicting chill is very easy:

  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (75)Chilling Nova - one of the primary sources of chill, but requires the target to already be chilled.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (76)Well of Darkness - one of the primary sources of chill, used at the start of the combo.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (77)"Chilled to the Bone!" - applies chill in a large area.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (78)Grasping Darkness - this skill is usually used as an opener due to its pull, and it also chills.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (79)Chilling Scythe - the final hit of the greatsword auto-chain.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (80)Executioner's Scythe - applies chill in a large area and places an ice field.
    • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (81)Soul Spiral, Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (82)Gravedigger, Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (83)Death Spiral - if used in an ice field, these can create Chilling Bolts, which apply chill when they hit a target; if used inside a target's hitbox, this can apply a considerable amount of chill very quickly. (See also: Guide:What_are_Combo_Fields)
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (84)Shivers of Dread - applies chill to any enemy feared, with no cooldown; this means Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (85)Terrify will apply chill.

Notes and tips

  • Pull mobs together with Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (86)Spectral Grasp and/or Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (87)Grasping Darkness before bursting them all down.
  • When dealing with groups of mobs, remember Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (88)Gravedigger will reset if at least one of them is below 50% HP. Cleave them all.
  • You do not gain life force from nearby deaths while inside Shroud. Try to finish off your enemies outside of Reaper's Shroud to replenish your life force.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (89)Grasping Darkness has a long aftercast, but can be cancelled almost immediately after casting by weapon swapping or entering shroud.
  • Stay in melee range to benefit from Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (90)Soul Eater.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (91)Death's Charge destroys projectiles.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (92)Nightfall corrupts boons on enemies.

Survivability

  • Sidestep and walk or dodge out of enemy attacks.
  • Stack blind, chill, and weakness on trash mobs to negate their damage.
  • Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (93)Reaper's Shroud is as a second health bar and has a natural 33% damage redution. Build:Reaper - Power Greatsword (94)Infusing Terror further reduces damage taken.
